Clinical work is not passive. It requires consistency.
Our sessions may include history gathering, process work, psychoeducation, examining your thoughts and habits, to name a few. Our sessions require active participation from both of us. In my experience, building a trusting, honest relationship between client and therapist is the key to success. Like with any relationship, some things will need to feel like they “click.” It is okay if you find out I’m not the right therapist for you.
With the relationship as the foundation, I utilize compassion, patience, and a directive approach to help individuals and couples participate more actively in their own lives. If we work together, I will prioritize you and/or your partner taking actionable steps, making small but deliberate changes in behaviors and choices in order to sustain progress.
